Low-power AI SoCs for smart devices and industries

Summary

A new initiative focused on indigenous, ultra-low-power, AI-enabled SoCs for edge computing. It targets applications in healthcare, smart homes, industrial IoT, and automotive, strengthening India’s global semiconductor standing with high-performance, energy-efficient, and secure AI solutions. The “National Edge AI Silicon Initiative” directly tackles India’s limited indigenous semiconductor capabilities for edge AI applications. This program is dedicated to the development of ultra-low-power, AI-enabled System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. These SoCs are designed to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient, and secure edge computing for crucial sectors such as healthcare, smart homes, industrial IoT, and automotive. By fostering this domestic development, India will significantly strengthen its position in the global semiconductor supply chain, moving towards greater self-reliance in advanced AI hardware.
