A program to develop indigenous, energy-efficient AI/ML-optimized chips for edge computing, enabling low-latency processing and enhancing India’s AI hardware and edge computing capabilities. To address the limited availability of indigenous AI accelerators, the “Edge AI Hardware Development Program” focuses on designing and developing AI/ML-optimized chips specifically for edge computing. This initiative aims to produce energy-efficient, low-latency AI processing solutions directly at the device level, significantly boosting India’s capabilities in cutting-edge AI hardware and propelling its self-sufficiency in edge computing technologies.
